the 80th anniversary of her birthday, September 13,1986. A Limerick or Two for Dear Mrs. Q. Our seventh-grade teacher, Mrs. Q-. Was impressive and stem. We were new. She taught us to “Do it!” And before we quite knew it, The school year was already through. Our basketball coach, Mrs. 0. ; - and we Demanded our best - knew We must score and not foul. (Who would dare risk her growl?) Our fame as girls’ champions grew! She was thorough, demanding, and tough. We must always produce our best stuff. And although she was strict, We were proud to be picked, To be one of her girls was enough! She drove us all home - and she cared. On her shoulders we grew and we dared.
