A pleasure
To the editor:
It was such a pleasure to be in attendance for the birthday celebration at RCES, honoring Mrs. Mary Botts Quaintance on Saturday evening, September 13.
Mrs. Quaintance is positively one of a kind. She has held every office possible during her administration as an educator. She was teacher, coach, doctor, nurse, sheriff, judge, lawyer, jury, prosecutor, counselor, philosopher and principal to mention a few. However, because of space limitation, I regretfully decline to list examples.
Having gone through elementary school under her direction and guidance, I can attest to the fact that she was not only a teacher of subjects, she was a teacher who taught one how to respect, care, be honest, have good morals and build character because Mrs. Quaintance acquired all these qualities and then some.
Most of us have heard, “when E. F. Hutton speaks everyone listens.” Well, E. F. didn’t have anything on Mrs. Quaintance. Women’s lib could take quite a lesson from her, as I’m sure many of the men who dealt with her could attest.
Mrs. Quaintance is a very special person and probably doesn’t realize the services she has performed for thousands of men and women. She had a job and performed it in an unselfish rtianner. She is a vivacious lady who is still on the circuit and I will be looking forward to your birthday celebration in the year 2006.
