Margaret Atkins
Miss Margaret Helen Atkins, 57, of Winchester, died Jan. 7 at the Winchester Medical Center.
A native of Rappahannock County, Miss Atkins had lived in Winchester for 37 years. She was a retired secretary for J. B. Arthur Insurance Company and had been a volunteer worker at Winchester Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of Amiss ville Baptist Church.
She is survived by her parents Roadcap and Mary Helen Atkins of Amiss ville and one nephew.
A graveside service was conducted Jan. 9 in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper, by the Rev. John S. Farrar.

William Settle
Wiliam Edward (Ned) Settle Sr., 72, of Washington, died Jan. 10 at his residence.
Mr. Settle was bom Sept. 17, 1914, in Rappahannock County, the son of the late William and Elizabeth Elliott Settle, and was a lifelong resident of the county. _ He was a retired employee of the Aileen Knitwear Plant.
He is survived by his wife Elisabeth Fincham Settle of Washington, a daughter Betty Jean Moulis of Silver Spring, Md., two sons, William Edward Settle Jr. of Woodbridge and James R. Settle of Washington, a sister Virginia Estes of Washington, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was a member of the Washington Baptist Church, where his funeral service was conducted Jan. 13 by the Rev. J. Earl Jarrell. Interment was at the Washington Masonic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jonas Jenkins Jr., Ennis Jenkins, Jack Jenkins, Bobby Frazier, Wayne Walker and Charles Currence.
