Vehicle stolen,

A 1980 2-door Volkswagen Rabbit was stolen Saturday night from J. R.’s Auto Sales on Rt. 211 west of Sperryville. The theft was discovered when the driver wrecked the vehicle on Rt. 600, approximately one mile outside of Sperryville.
According to Trooper R. A. Baines, the vehicle was taken sometime late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. Trooper Baines received the report of the accident at about 1 a.m. Sunday. He said that when he arrived, the driver had fled the scene.
Trooper Baines said that his investigation is continuing, but that at this time there has been no arrest and no charges have been filed.
