Carnival set for June 10-13
The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual carnival June 10-13. The parade will be featured on Friday, June 12, at 7 p.m. Anyone wishing to volunteer their time in helping with the carnival, donating food, or entering the parade should call the firehouse at 937-5125 or Sheila Scott at 937-4357.
Homecoming at Family Worship
Pastor Bob Dunphy and Family Worship Center invite you to come and celebrate the life changing power of Jesus Christ at their third homecoming on Sunday, June 7 at 10:30 a.m. Services will also be held Sunday-Tuesday each evening at 7:30 p.m.
Guest speaker will be Rev. Harim Gomez, president and founder of Tree of Life Ministries. Rev. Gomez is a teaching evangelist who is called of God to establish the church in endtime evangelism, according to Pastor Dunphy. “Bring a friend! Bring a loved one! New Rappahannock Views
A one-woman show of photographs and montages by Clyde Lee will open Saturday, June 6, from 6 until 9 p.m. at Middle Street Gallery in Washington. The exhibition includes imaginative use of scale, mystical imagery and collage based on “New Rappahannock Views.” The show will run through June.
Currently on view through the end of May at Middle Street is “Dimensions” - a show of sculpture, pottery and collage; black and white photographs by Edik Gladkov of the Soviet Union, and “Origins and Excavation I,” a community mural project carried out by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community. Program on Immigration Law
A 90-minute program produced by the Extension Service Will be held on Friday, June 12, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The program will inform employers about changes in immigration law, which become effective June 1.
Local sites for the state-wide teleprogram are the Culpeper Extension Office, the District Extension Office in Warrenton and the 4-H Center outside Front Royal. '
Immigration officials will be able to respond to questions by telephone from each site. The first half of the program will detail the general requirements of the new law and the- second half will provide, information about specific requirements for agricultural employers.' Gid Brown homecoming
Gid Brown Bible Church near Washington will have homecoming services on Sunday, June 7 beginning at 10 a.m. Jerry and Betty Mundy from Cleveland, Tenn. will be singing throughout the day. Pastor Edward Morgan from Princeton, West Virginia will be preaching at the 11 a.m. service. Dinner will be served following the morning service.
In the afternoon at 2 o’clock Pastor Nelson Pettit from Smithcreek Baptist Church near New Market will be preaching. Gid Brown Pastor John Burke invites everyone to come spend the day, eqjoy the' preaching and fellowship. A nursery will be provided and transportation can be arranged by calling 675-3662.
Bull Run Assembly homecoming
Pastor Jerry Schloe extends a warm welcome to everyone to attend homecoming services on May 31 at the Bull Run Assembly of God at 1805 Loudoun Drive in Haymarket, seven and a half miles north of Rt. 66, just off Rt. 15.

La Leche League meeting
“The Advantages of Breastfeeding” will be the topic at the June meeting of the Fauquier County La Leche League. This is the first in a series of four discussion meetings which offer both encouragement and information to mothers interested in breastfeeding. dig. cussions include the latest medical research, as well as personal experience. Other services include a lending library of books on childbirth, parenting, nutrition and breastfeeding, and telephone counseling.
