winners nave been announced in several recent poster contests held for children in area schools. Two Wakefield School students won first and second place awards in the “Just Say No” contest for Substance Abuse Prevention Week, observed May 13 to 19. Cory Dermitt, a junior, and senior Shannon Weston received first and second place honors, respectively. They were awarded $60 and $40 prizes for their entries. The contest was sponsored by a number of public service agencies in Fauquier County, including the Fauquier County Public Schools, Family Guidance Services of Fauquier, the 9 Fauquier Mental Health Association

seminars set The Rappahannock Extension Office has announced that three Christmas Tree Management Demonstrations will be held in neighboring counties during early June. The dates and locations are: Tuesday, June 9, Bedford County. Wednesday, June 10, Rockingham County. Thursday, June 11, Suffolk.
