To the editor
The people of Amissville are taking a leadership role in protecting our environment and property, which every citizen of Rappahannock County should applaud and support. In our meeting on Sunday, May 17, well over a hundred citizens gave up their Sunday afternoon to make a unanimous commitment.
We committed to ENSURING that every single legal and regulatory step will be taken by the county and state and federal government in the process of considering and creating a landfill.
I am proud to be a part of this responsible and action-oriented community, which has taken on a $50,000 obligation to hire environmental legal counsel to watchdog the process by which the Stover tract is considered, studied, and perhaps developed for a landfill.
