Filling:

1 pint fresh strawberries

1/3 cup sugar

16 ounces cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup reserved strawberry juice

1/2 pint heavy cream, whipped, <■ sweetened

Crust: Combine ingredients (use pudding mix dry). Beat at low speed until blended. Spread into greased 13x9x2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool.

Filling: Mash fresh berries, sweeten with 1/3 cup sugar. Drain, reserving juice. (Two 10-ounce packages frozen berries may be used.) Beat cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar until smooth. Add berry juice; beat 1 minute. Fold in drained berries, then whipped cream. Pour over crust. Cover; freeze. Let stand at room temperature about 15 minutes before serving.

Strawberry Dream Torte is “mouth-watering good.” It can be made ahead for a cook-out party, or for the family.
