planning for your son or daughter, a seven-hour course was developed by
the Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center in Alexandria.
“Next Steps: Planning for Employment” will be presented Monday, June 8 and Wednesday, June 10 from 7 to 10 p.m. A third evening, Thursday, June 11 will offer participants the chance to hear a panel of professionals from vocational training and placement fields.
Co-sponsored by the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Center (RRCSC) and the Department of Rehabilitative Services, this course is valuable for parents whose children are elementary through high school age and professionals, particularly teachers in special education.
Instructors will be Tim Breedlove, Vocational Services Manager for RRCSC; Susan Bohache, a private rehabilitation counselor; and Stefanie van Gulden, parent and coordinator of RRCSC Respite Care Program.
There is a fee of $5.00 per person ($7.50 per couple) for the course and pre-registration is required. Anyone wishing more information or to register should call Kathy McGuire at 825-6494, 672-1717 or 347-0440 no later than Wednesday, June 3.
