Many interesting tools and items used in the production and marketing of apples were on display, thanks
to I.R. (Billy) Kilby, Alex Sharp and Bill Lyne.
The business part of the meeting was kept as short as possible with the election of officers and the reports of the Society’s committees. The many activities and accomplishments of the society were repented. Virginia Lindstrom, the treasurer, reported that 110 persons contributed nearly $10,000 for the renovation of the County’s courtroom. It is interesting to note that the court house and the clerk’s office, now the office of the Commissioner of Revenue, were built in the early 1860s for the sum of $4,600.
Cathy Knuepfer reported that there will probably be a youth worker assigned to the Society for the summer and that there is a need for volunteers to act as supervisors and act as hosts to visitors. Rex Lindstrom, the retiring president, asked members and anyone interested to help by donating four horn? of time each week if possible. The hours will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. A schedule will be posted at the Society’s building for those who wish to participate.
Members are also asked to tain* note that the Society’s 1987-88 dues are now payable: individuals, $6 and couples, $10.
