The Rappahannock County Garden Club announced that due to "unforseen circumstances" it has been forced to relenquish the maintenance of the flower garden planted at the intersection of Rts. 522 and 231 outside Sperryville.
F & M Bank merges
F & M National Corporation of Winchester and Blakeley Bank and Trust Co. of Ranson, W. Va. have announced intention to merge. The agreement is subject to the approval of regulatory authorities and the stockholders of the West Virginia bank. Those shareholders will receive 11 shares of F & M National stock for each share of Blakeley stock they hold.
