Our supervisors claim they are dismayed by the sharp increase in truck traffic that has come to Rappahannock as a result of the ban on trucks traveling Rt. 17, and that they are actively pressuring state officials to get Rt. 17 reopened to these same trucks.
At the same time, however, our supervisors are supporting the plan to dual-lane Rt. 211 which, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation’s environmental assessment, is being “designed for heavy truck usage.” It is Virginia State Policy to encourage tractor-trailer traf
