Christopher H. Kilpatrick, USN, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. James J. Kilpatrick of White Walnut Hill, Woodville, is serving aboard the attack aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea at San Diego. As a member of the crew he recently completed training exercises for the ship’s fourth deployment to the Far East. He participated in gunnery, damage control, firefighting, air defense and other drills under simulated battle conditions.

A “Consensus” in favor of
searching for a solution to Sperryville’s pollution problem that might be less costly than the collector system and treatment plant originally recommended, developed at a well-attended meeting Monday night at the Rappahannock Courthouse. A collection system and secondary — perhaps tertiary — treatment plant might cost $500,000 or more to serve 104 houses or approximately 416 people, and some homeowners from the area made it clear they thought that was ridiculous.
