Fire danger high
The Virginia Department of Forestry warns residents of the extreme danger of brush fires. Lack of rain and wind have combined to make the woods and fields tinder dry, and a number of brush fires have started with controlled burns during the past week. Hunters and woodcutters, too, " are cautioned to be careful with matches, > and even with the hot exhaust systems of chainsaws and vehicles driven off-road. For . information about current burning conditions, contact Forest Warden Tippy Jenkins (987-8837).- - ---— -^_
