cago and Detroit areas, where her father was an advertising executive for Ford Motor Company. After majoring in History at Western Reserve University and studying piano with noted conductor-composer Dr. Rudolph Ganz at Chicago Musical College, shfe moved to the Washington, D.C. area in 1960 to marry Harry L. Clark, a U.S. Civil Service Commission official. The couple then entered show dog breeding and settled in 1964 near Broad Run, Virginia.
Over the succeeding years, Mrs. Clark bred more than 160 show Champion English Cocker Spaniels, by far the alltime record for her breed, and one of the top records for any breeder in American Kennel Club history. She provided foundation stock for many other English Cocker kennels throughout the United States, as well as Canada, Mexico and India, and dogs of her famed “Soho” kennel name are today in the pedigrees of an absolute majority of all U.S. English Cocker Champions nationwide.
A long time member of the En- 1 glish Cocker Spaniel Club of America, Mrs. Clark was named the ECSCA’s National Breeder of the Year a record 11 times, most recently in 1987, the year she retired , fronrshow activity. _
