The first five years of life are the most critical period in a child’s development.
Not only are the basic foundations for intellectual development being established but attitudes, beliefs and patterns of behaviorJ&re also being formed.
Because of this, parents and the family are very important in this formative process.
Each baby is unique, yet similar in that the bonding process is extremely important for a healthy social and emotional development to occur.
The Family Maternity Center at Fauquier Hospital encourages this bonding process of the parents with the child by encouraging fathers to participate in the birthing process.
