and State University The Director of Development will be responsible for all fund raising activities for the Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center located in Leesburg, Virginia. The Director reports to the Associate Vice President for University Development at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and will work closely with the Director of the Equine Center. The Director will be located at the Equine Center in Leesburg, Virginia. Responsiblities of the Director will include, but not be limited to, planning, coordinating and conducting all fund raising activities, including an annual fund program; Identifying, enlisting and directing of volunteers, developing special giving opportunities for individuals, corporations, and foundations, and the establishment of gift recognition programs.

Bachelors degree required; a minimum of three years fund raising experience with direct solica tation responsibilllties, preferably with a college of veterinary medicine or medical college; ability to function independently while working as part of a team; strong written and verbal communication skills.
