Virginia localities received more than $16 million in ABC profits during fiscal year 1987-88, plus an additional $6.3 million in wine taxes, according to an announcement from the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.
Those disbursements included $25,589 to Rappahannock County. The county received $17,601 as its share of the profits from sales of liquor, cordials and Virginia wines at the state’s ABC stores, plus another $6,950 in wine taxes. The Town of Washington received a total of $1,038 in revenue from liquor sales and the wine tax.
