NSDAR to meet
The Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, NSDAR will meet in the Culpeper United Methodist Church at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10. The program by Mrs. Woodruff Kearns will be a musical skit “Remember the Ladies. Mrs. Douglas Fairfax, Regent presiding. Hostesses are Mrs. George Taylor and Mrs. Ellie Gilmore.
Pony Club will meet
An organizational meeting for the 4-H Horse & Pony Club will be held on Thursday, Jan. 5 at 4:30 p.m. in the Rappahannock Extension Office. All interested young people between the ages of nine and 19 are invited and encouraged to attend.
Diabetes and Your Heart
Dr. Frank Black will be speaking on “Diabetes and Your Heart” Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fauquier Hospital Education Center. This free program is part of the Heart to Heart series which provides information, education and support to persons with heart conditions and their families. The program is sponsored jointly by Fauquier Hospital and the American Heart Association.
Direct market meeting
The Virginia Direct Marketing Conference will be held at the Inn in Williamsburg, on Jan. 18-20. Call the Extension Office for a copy of the program and registration materials.
'Big' .
The movie Big will be playing at the Gay Street Theater on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 7 and 8 at 7:30 p.m. each evening. Tom Hanks gives a fine performance in last summer’s gigantic comedy hit Big. Hank stars as as 12-year-old boy who gets more than he bargained for w’hen a fortune-telling machine grants him the ultimate wish — to be “Big.” Director Penny Marshall’s big-hearted romantic comedy about a bewildered boy trapped in an adult body is perfect entertainment for audiences of all ages and sizes. The movie is rated PG. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.
