school Homecoming
• H Rappahannock County High School Will celebrate its fall Homecoming weekend on Oct. 27 and 28. The focus of the weekend will be Saturday afternoon's soccer match against Wakefield, which begins at 2 p.m. At halftime the Homecoming Queen will be announced. Friday evening, Oct. 27, there will be a bonfire and pep rally at the high school at dark. And Saturday night, the Homecoming dance, sponsored by the SCA, will be held at the high school from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Hunter safety course
Game Warden Jim Bankston is still looking for people interested in taking the Virginia Game Commission's Hunter Education Course. There is no charge for the 10-hour course, which is required of all first-time hunters and all hunters less than 17 years of age. Warden Bankston must have pre-registered individuals in order to conduct the course, which will be held at a date and time to be announced. Hunting instructors sought
Game Warden Jim Bankston is looking for county residents willing to serve as volunteer instructors for the state's hunter education course. To qualify, each . volunteer must attend a state course for instructors. The hunter education course is 10 hours long, usually taught over two days. " Sen. Robb’s rep to visit
Virginia Senator Charles S. Robb (D) announced that his Shenandoah Valley regional representative, C.R. Suddith Jr., will begin monthly visits to Rappahannock County to meet with residents to discuss problems or issues under the purvue of the federal government. Mr. Suddith will visit Washington on the fourth Thursday of each month, beginning Sept. 28. He will be available to speak with residents in the courtroom at the county courthouse from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
