To the editor:
In his letter to the editor in late September, Augustus Johnson says that State Senator Eddy Dalton is unqualified for the office of Lieutenant Governor. Further, he feels that Senator Dalton’s opponent is highly qualified. Eddy Dalton’s opponent is a Volvo dealer from Fairfax who has never had public office. . Mr. Johnson complains that none of Senator Dalton’s proposed legislation passed into law. He prefers a candidate who has never had the opportunity to propose any legislation at all. But let’s take a look at the Senator’s proposals, the ones voted down by a legislature dominated by Democrats.
Here are a few of Eddy Dalton’s proposals:
• to remove the sales tax on prescription drugs.
• to create a five year mandatory sentence for anyone selling drugs to children.
• to require school officials to notify parents of students suspected of taking drugs or alcohol.
