To paraphrase Geoffry Plantagenet, second son of King Henry II: “It galls me deeply!” Geoffry was referring to his anger at the plotting of Henry to choose a successor to the throne.
What galls me is that more residents of Rappahannock were not present last weekend to savor the Rappahannock Players superb production of “The Lion in Winter.”
The sheer audacity of it! Imagine this tiny company bringing such a big and boisterous show to life. Imagine creating an entire medieval castle with 12 different interiors on a stage just 28 feet wide. Imagine moments of dramatic intensity worthy of Broadway, right here at home.
