CCLC yard sale
The Child Care and Learning Center will have a large yard sale on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to benefit CCLC’s scholarship fund. Books, furniture, children’s clothing, lots of toys and household items will be priced to sell. The sale will be held at Skyline Fruit stand i next to the Rappahannock Coop. Contributions for the sale will be ac- | cepted at 8 a.m. on site the day of the event.
Haunted hayrides
A family fun night of bon fires and haunted hayrides will be held at Mountain Green Farm on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 5-8 p.m. (rain date Sunday). Bring your own hot dogs, marshmallows and blanket for •; your family. Pinata bashing event and a costume contest for the kids. Advance tickets for adults is $4, children $2, at the gate $6 for adults, $3 for children. Call the Child Care and Learning Center at 675-3237 for further information. All proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund.
Heart Association food festival
The Rappahannock Chapter of the American Heart Association will have a food festival at Laurel Mills Store on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to noon. Those participating can register for a door prize, the new American Heart Association Cookbook.
Gallery reception
The School House Gallery cordially invites you to attend a reception Thursday, Oct. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. featuring Sporting Art by Neil Forster, Nancy Pellat, C. Cancelli, Jean Bowman and Sandra Forbush. The gallery is located at the School House Restaurant.
Flint Hill harvest dinner
The Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary will be serving a harvest dinner of turkey, ham and all the trimmings on Saturday, Oct. 21 beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Flint Hill fire hall. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children.
Basket workshop
An introductory workshop will be held during October at Middle Street Gallery in Washington. Participants will learn to weave baskets using various techniques and local materials. Dyeing and collecting basket materials will be covered. The fee is $48 and includes all materials. The class will run Thursday evenings, 7 p.m.-9 p.m., Oct. 12, 19 and 26.
