and cultures, the other clay pots and potsherds unearthed by Anne in Jordan and Syria. Along the inside wall are several examples of Chilean pottery of the Mapuche Indians. On the walls are some lovely examples of silk prayer rugs from the Middle East. Throughout the house are additional, prayer and decorative rugs of silk and wool.
One bedroom is furnished with a bed, dresser, dressing table and large wardrobe from a palace in Spain; these pieces were acquired in Hawaii. Walls in most rooms, including the kitchen, are covered with paintings and prints representing both international and American artists. There are several Japanese, Chinese and Taiwanese lacquered chests as well.
In the living room is a samovar of Russian origin acquired in Syria and a large brass Arabian tea service. Prominent in the eat-in kitchen/fam.ily room are paintings by Lebanese artists Paul and Emmanuel Guiragosian.
Additional houses to be shown include Greenfield, one mile west of Washington on the south side of U.S. 211 and Grenelefe, one mile south of Amissville on Rt. 642.
