Corvin guilty
of sex charges

Richard Corvin, 32, of Fredericksburg, pleaded guilty in Rappahannock County Circuit Court on Oct. 5 to three charges of sodomy. The incidents involved a male juvenile, according to court records.
Corvin entered an Alford Plea to a fourth charge, of transporting a juvenile in connection with the sex offenses. That plea means that, although the defendant does not admit guilt, he enters a guilty plea because he feels it is in his best interest.
Under the plea agreement reached with Commonwealth’s Attorney Peter Luke, Corvin will undergo a psychiatric examination which will be submitted to Judge Shore Robertson along with his pre-sentencing report. Sentencing was set for Jan. 8, 1990 at 10 a.m.
According to the plea agreement, the Commonwealth made no deal as to the sentence w hich will be recommended to Judge Robertson.
James Preston “Dickie” Walters, 26, of Huntly, was sentenced last month to two years in prison for five housebreakings in the Huntly and Flint Hill areas last November and December. Walters faced a total of seven felony charges and three misdemeanor charges in connection with the incidents.
Judge Shore Robertson sentenced Walters to six years in prison on each of the five breaking and entering charges, five yda^ on each of two grand larceny charges and 12 months in jail on each of three petty larceny charges.
Walters also pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one year in jail on an unrelated escape charge.
Judge Robertson ordered that all of the sentences, except the escape, be served concurrently, or all at the same time. He suspended all of the jail time except for one year, then added the one year for the escape charge to that.
