Miss Kite was a native of Rappahannock and had lived in Culpeper for many years. She was a retired school teacher.
Miss Kite was a member of United Daughters of the Confederacy, the A.A.R.P., Culpeper Historical Association, and Oak Shade United Methodist Church. Miss Kite attended William & Mary and Mary Washington Colleges.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Francis Coons of Falls Church; and four nephews, Raymond and Donald Kite, Tom and Dick Coons.
Her parents were the late John Franklin and Isa Smith Kite.
A funeral service was held at Clore Funeral Home chapel on Janurary 12. The Rev. Garland Hines officiated. Interment was in Culpeper Masonic Cemetery.
