The Joneses were married on May 16, 1941 in Fredericksburg. They have two children and three grandchildren. Rev. Jones is pastor of Woodville Baptist Church.
A brief program was held in the afternoon before the cutting of the wedding cake. Rev. J. Howard Cates of Fredericksburg read a poem written by Mrs. Charles Powell, then sang “O Promise Me.”
Linda Jones presented to her parents a photo album entitled “This Is Your Life” with family pictures from childhood to the present time. Letters and cards of congratulations from friends were included in a book of memories. Many out of town friends and family attended the 1-5 p.m. reception.
