“We’ve had a great deal of lookers,” a potter from Maryland said, adding while people were looking, sales were not high.
In general people said the not as large as last year’s.
“It’s not nearly as big a crowd as last year,” Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad president Donald Gore said. His squad sold cold drinks, hamburgers, hot dogs and baked goods on the grounds at That Sperryville Emporium.
“With Desert Storm there are many other events going in,” he said, adding there were major events in Front Royal, Culpeper and Charlottesville.
“And, it’s too hot;” he said, wipping his brow.
