A traffic stop by Trooper Knick for speeding resulted in the recovery of a 1985 Buick Skylark that had been reported stolen in Michigan, according to Sgt. Adams.

Trooper Knick stopped Clifton Melvin Long, 28, of Plainfield, N.J., on U.S. 522 at 8 p.m. May 21 for going 50 mph in a 35 mph zone, said Sgt. Adams. A check of the vehicle’s registration revealed it was reported stolen. Mr. Long was arrested for auto larceny.

• Sgt. Adams reported no serious accidents in Rappahannock and no fatalities in Rappahannock or Fauquier over the Memorial Day weekend.

“Everything went well. It was a very safe weekend,” said Sgt. Adams.
