Tennis clinic

A tennis clinic will be held the last two weeks in June at the Rappahannock Park. Classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced will be available. Watch this column for additional information.

Fire department dance

The Washington Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, June 8. The band “Cross Country” will be playing. You must be 21 years of age to attend. Cost is $8 per person with proceeds to benefit the fire department.

Burke family reunion

The families of the late Lewis and Bessie Jenkins Burke will hold a reunion on Sunday, June 9 at the Rappahannock Park near Washington. Family members and friends are invited to attend, bringing a picnic lunch and beverage, and meet old and new friends. Lunch will be served at 12:30.

Reunion meeting scheduled

A meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 2 at the Flint Hill fire department to plan a 10-year reunion for Rappahannock County High School class of 1981. All interested alumni are encouraged to attend. For more information contact Rhonda (Foster) Breeden at 825-5321.

Register for 4-H camp

The county Extension office is accepting registrations for the 4-H Overnight Camp schedule for July 7-11. The camp will be held at the Northern Virginia 4-H Center located outside Front Royal and will include educational workshops, swimming, and other recreational activities. The Overnight Camp is for youngsters ages 9-13. The cost is $80. Reservations must be made by June 15. Forty spaces are available, and registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Forms are avaiable at the Extension office.

Bealeton festival

The Bealeton-Remington Ruritan Club will be sponsoring the Bealeton Festival to benefit charity from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 8 at the Bealeton Shopping Center area, Routes 17 and 28 in Bealeton. There will be arts and crafts booths and displays, food, beverages, baked goods and much, much more.

Father's Day breakfast

Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor an all-you-caneat breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16 at the fire hall. The menu will consist of bacon, eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, potatoes and other breakfast delights. Prices are $5 for adults and $3 for children eight and under.
