My guess is that the Lynns remained Lynns. Pamela Lynn, according to Lynn Hopewell, the chairman of the Wakefield Board, was intemperate. She probably was; she always has been. And I suspect that she was even more intemperate when she was told that her behavior was no longer acceptable. Had Pamela Lynn not been intemperate for many years, there would be no Wakefield Board for Lynn Hopewell to chair.
But on that speculation, I am prepared to make a moral choice. Since we are indebted to.Mrs. Lynn because of her intemperance, I think the Wakefield community should be patieht with both her and her intemperance.
Should we be equally patient with the Wakefield Board of Directors? J think not. It is not simply that the board’s sacrifices don’t match the Lynns; they hardly could. It is that while Mrs. Lynn is too candid, the board is not candid at all.
