Dr. Krebser’s farm now includes a 110-cow herd. He sells the calves as yearlings. In the past he also tried raising sheep and pigs. “The sheep were too labor intensive, and the pig market dropped drastically,” he said. “I decided just to stay with cattle.”
Most of the time he has only the help of farm manager James P. Walters. Together they have created a showplace.
He said he would like to teach and take courses in history, which has always interested him. Meanwhile, he continues to practice medicine and farm in Rappahannock County, many miles and 41 years from Zurich, Switzerland.
