Tony Capies, 24, of Richmond, has been charged in connection with three crimes, according to Sheriff John H. Woodward.

Capies was charged with two counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle for incidents last month where vehicles belonging to Wanda Fuller and Samuel Sisk were taken, later turning up in the same spot in Gid Brown Hollow.

This week, according to Sheriff Woodward, Capies stole a Bridgestone mountain bicycle from Mike Brown’s residence in Gid Brown Hollow. The bike was recovered in Sperryville, said Sheriff Woodward.

Capies will be extradited to D.C. to face larceny charges after his Rappahannock charges are resolved.

In other police news this week:

• Burglars were apparently frightened by an alarm at the W&J Grocery on Route 231 the night of Aug. 6, according to Sheriff Woodward.

The store’s rear door was broken, said the sheriff, and two men fled in a ton vehicle with a flat bed and cab lights after the alarm sounded.

Residents of a nearby home saw the men flee. Nothing was taken.

• A roll of number-four copper wire was stolen from the Potomac Edison substation in Sperryville
