At last week’s Rappahannock Board of Supervisors meeting, County Administrator John McCarthy said that private haulers had been able to find places to dispose of Rappahannock’s septage, but the homeowner could expect to be charged more for transportation costs and tipping fees at the plants that accept the material.
The supervisors agreed that the Sperryville sewer treatment plant had been designed to handle the Sperryville area only and is not likely to be able to accept septage from the rest of the county.
