Those elected as delegates to the 7th District convention were Bob Darby, Trish Darby, Cathy Frazier, Ron Frazier, Alvin Henry, Emily Henry, Maurice Herndon, John Lekander, John Marocchi, Ann H. Miller, D. Brooke Miller, Jesse Pond, Edith Pond, Harry Purdy, William Ryan, Jimmy Swindler, Melanie Thornhill, Sallie Thornhill, Dorothy Settle Whorton, Gary Whorton, and Roy Whorton.
Not all of the elected delegates attended the mass meeting. They had qualified as delegates earlier. Some had intended to support Mr. Slaughter III.
The meeting voted that Rappahannock’s delegation would “vote as a whole,” so that those who do attend can cast all of Rappahannock’s six votes at the convention.
