Mr. Luke, 44, was bom in Hampton, Va.. He recieved a bachelor’s degree and law degree at U. Va.
He did post-graduate work at the National Law Center at George Washington University, and spent four years in the Air Force as a judge advocate.
In 1976 he spent a year as a staff attorney on the Presidential Clemency Board, then starting a private practice in 1977.
He was a substitute judge in the 20th Judicial Circuit from 1981-84, and a special justice in Rappahannock during the same period.
A 14-year resident of Rappahannock, he and the former Sharon Genebach have two young children. Mr. Luke’s parents, Ernest P. and Joy T. Luke, also live in the county.
