A fifth resolution, introduced by Maurice Herndon, supported Robert Darby for the House of Delegates seat and Kevin Miller for the 26th District Virginia Senate seat.
Sen. Miller and Mr. Darby also spoke at the meeting. Sen. Miller said, “I really appreciate the support I’ve had in the past. The great majority of the people in this district recognize the Democratic leadership has made a shambles of our budget . . . I’ve tried to represent the great majority of the people in the 26th District.”
Mr. Darby invited those in attendance to a campaign kickoff at his home in Woodville Saturday afternoon. He said he would be calling' on them for help in the campaign.
Local party chairman Walter Longyear said it is important to Republicans to keep “our seat in Congress” and keep Kevin Miller in the state senate.
