CCLC auctions
donated house
A cedar-sided modular home now in Harris Hollow has been donated to the Child Care and Learning Center in Washington, Va. to be auctioned off. Proceeds from the auction will pay off the last $13,000 of the mortgage taken out by CCLC to build its pavilion.
The 832-square-foot house was signed over to CCLC by its previous owners, Richard C. and Katherine Bull, in December.
The structure has two bedrooms, a bath, kitchen, living area, deck and screened-in porch. It is only a few years old.
Tours of the house (and information about the sealed bidding process) are available fay calling CCLC Director Rose Ann Shalrp at 703-675-3237.
Limited financing is available, and during the bid openingth^re will be two companies on hand that will offer to move the house. Mrs. Sharp said moving will cost approximately $6,000.
The Bulls, of Washington, D.C., are building a new home on the property, said Mrs. Sharp.
“The (CCLC) board saw it as an opportunity for someone to have a dream house,” said Mrs. Sharp.
After the auction, CCLC will hold a mortgage burning party to honor donors to the pavilion as well as all former and present CCLC board members on Feb. 14 at a site yet to be determined.
