“The use of the library is going up, and we have to recognize that,” he said. “I thought the new library would save money. I thought when we built our dog pound it would save money. I was wrong on both counts.”
Stonewall-Hawthom representative Robert Anderson said, "I have problems with the way money’s handled. I don’t see a record of where the money is spent. We’re spending the taxpayer’s money.”
Dr. Young said, “When I first came on the board I felt it was us coming to you to ask you to do something for us. I don’t feel that way any more. It’s your library.”
The supervisors appointed County Administrator John McCarthy to the Library Board last summer. He said he also had problems with the way the library’s money is spent.
