Did it ever occur to the powers that be that an old A1 Jolson record would be an equal to that twenty dollar bill... or an old iron or telephone? (Or even more to the right finder?) So let him have it! What’s the big deal? Why illegal? to collect the fine, of course! Authorities may tell you it is for sanitation and safety. Now, what makes me think they are more interested' in your money than your health? There’s no fine to collect if it is legal. (Some say I’m paranoid. Perhaps so, but . . . ain’t I right?)
Tell you what . . . Nowadays a good modem dump is equipped with separate bins for plastic, bottles (both colored and white), aluminum, etc. How about a special recepticle for “re-usables” free to those who wish? Good ideas? You bet! But then there’s no fine to collect so don’t expect it to happen.
C’mon people, lighten up! Here’s another maxim for you: “Live and let live.” In the words of the great Mark Twain, “Nothing needs reforming so much as somebody else’s habits.”
