Estate planning
The Rappahannock Farmers Association and Extension Agent Tommy Williams are co-sponsoring a program on estate planning. The program will be held at 7 p.m. on Jan. 19 in the Extension Office’s Conference Room on Gay Street. There will be two speakers, Doug Baumgardner and Jack Dunsford. The Parent-Teacher Organization will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday , Jan. 9 in the Rappahannock Elementary School Library. On the agenda are the new middle school and transportation.
SHARE delivery day
The January Delivery Day for SHARE is from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Washington Baptist Church. All participants should pick up their groceries at this time. A donation of not more than $1 will be appreciated on Delivery Day to defer the cost of gas for the two men who drive each month to pick up the groceries. Participants should also bring their community service vouchers and $13 in cash or food stamps to sign up for January.
Sign-up period
Sign-up now through Jan. 10 for a long term agreement for conservation practices to be Carried out over a period of three to five years. Requests must be made in the ASCS office by Jan. 10 and before a practice is started.
Open house
An open house will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. at Sunny Slope Home for Adults on Friday, Jan. 10. Owners Wilma and James Burke extend an invitation to the public to attend. Refreshments will be served.
Financial workshop
A financial aide workshop for parents of college bound seniors will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at the Rappahannock High School Library.
' Business Council to meet
The Sperryville Business Council will meet at 6. p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19 at Country Home Antiques. All members and interested business persons are urged to attend. {.
Workshop to be helaNc^x
“Life is Learning” workshops will resume on Sunday, Jam 12 at the New Leaf Bookstore and Organic Harvest. The workshojmr Jan. 12 is entitled “Shamanic Journey,” which is led by Eka Kapiotis, Msfr. This workshop will explain the methods to entering the alternate reak ity to receive help. Workshops are from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Cost is $5 at the door. No reservations needed. The Bookstore is located at 36 Main St., Warrenton, Va.
NSDAR to meet
The Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, NSDAR, will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at the Culpeper United Methodist Church. The speaker, Miss Lucy Katherine Bowie, will speak on early American quilts.
Ski weekend at Center
The Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center in Front Royal is * planning a program for youth ages 13-19 on Jan. 24-26,1992. Registra- ' tions are now being accepted.
Participants will stay at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center and ski at Cherokee Ski Resort just outside Front Royal.
The ski weekend cost is $80. Interested teens need to send in their ‘ registration by Jan. 17. Contact the Rappahannock Extension Office at 675-3619 for information and registration forms.
^ Flexercise classes
A six-week series of flexercise classes will begin Monday, Jan. 13. Classes will be held at 5:45 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays at Rappahannock Elementary School. Class fee is $35. Beginners are welcome. Call Rose Ann Sharp, 675-3887, evenings for more information.

at Washington
A buffet breakfast will be held from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Washington fire hall on Saturday, Jan. 18. The menu will consist of sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, pancakes, hash browns, baked apples, coffee, juice and hot chocolate. Cost will be $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. All proceeds will benefit the Washington Volunteer Fire Department.
Education workshops
Early childhood education workshops will be held at St. Luke’s Lutheran School on Saturday, Jan. 18. Registration time is at 8:30 a.m. and the workshops will be held from 9 a.m.-noon. The fee for nonmembers is $2.50. For further information, call St. Luke’s School at 703-825-8890.
