Mr. Sims role was to help recruit high school players. He serves as the instrumental director of District 9 of the Virginia Music Educators Association. So Mr. Sims started calling high school band directors in Rappahannock, Fauquier, Warren, Clarke, and Prince William counties. *
He didn’t have much specific in-1 formation. He couldn’t tell them precisely when practices would be. He couldn’t even guarantee any of this would happen at all. Wendy Whitford, Rappahannock’s band director, suggested Tucker and Michael as possible participants.
