Students see
dangerous driver
To the Editor:
On Tuesday, Jan. 12, my students came into math class talking about the shocking thing that had happened to them that morning someone had sped past their school bus as the bus was loading students! Then, at the School Board Meeting that same evening, I heard that this was the third such outrage in as many weeks, and sail the vehicles were local.
Surely, tHfe safety of our children is beyond question - we may argue over the school budget, disagree over a middle school vs. additions, like or dislike certain teachers - but common sense, as well as the law, makes it imperative that we take extra care when the subject is children.
I hope these three incidents are the last we hear of this dangerous behavior. Adults who behave this way are showing disrespect for life, property and the law at the very time we are teaching your children respect for these things.
