Robert L. (Jock) Brown has
announced his resignation as treasurer of Rappahannock County, effective February 28. An appointment will be made by the local Circuit Court judge for a replacement to complete the unexpired term of the treasurer. Judge R.V. Snead will be at his office in the courthouse in Washington on Wednesday, January 31 at 2 p.m. to hear anyone who wishes to make a recommendation for a successor. That person appointed will assume the duties of the treasurer until the next general election which is this fall. At that time the voters of the county will select a treasurer.
