Despite the nasty weekend weather, the Middle St. Gallery art auction was extremely well attended. The gallery raised about $4,000 for its programs.
The big sale for the day was the lucite sculpture “Spirita” by Frederick Hart of Hume. Brooke Fletcher of Sperryville bid $8500 and was delighted to take the piece home with her. Mr. Hart had donated 90 percent of the selling price to the Citizens of Fauquier County, and Middle St. Gallery received 10 percent, or $850. Other high bid items
