Speeding?
To the Editor:
On Wednesday, Oct. 20 a phone call was made to the Sheriffs Office concerning a school bus traveling up 211 at a speed of 70 miles an hour. There were a few things wrong with that phone call.
• Being a mother and grandmother, I would never drive anything at such speed with or without children in it.
• No school bus in Rappahannock County will travel 70 miles per hour.
• The distance between my stops range from .7-1.3 miles, allowing very little distance to reach 70 miles per hour with hills and curves between, also on that day another school bus got behind me from Ben Venue to the school and both buses were traveling at 45 m.p.h.
1 really wish you had given your name; then I could invite you to ride with me on my run someday and truly witness my speed and my concern for the children on and off my bus.
I'm a firm believer that the Lord will reveal to you questions you need answers to. I truly feel he has done just that for me. So you see, maybe I do know your name. I just don’t know your reason.
I only ask, the next time you have the urge to be a concerned citizen, please be sure what you report is the absolute truth. Then you will be proud to give your name.
