Something’s happening at the old Washington Mill on Route 683, the road that leads from town to the new library.
The property surrounding the mill has been cleared, and it is once again easy to see this beautiful old building.
The new owner of the mill, Barry Starke of Casanova, said he had his eyes on the mill for twenty years, and finally bought it from Joel Fisher when it was last up for sale.
He has no immediate plans for the mill. He is concentrating first on stabilizing the building and closing it in.
“I have been contacting some people in the community to find out what the community needs and wants,” said Mr. Starke. He hopes to make a decision by springtime about what will happen with the mill.
