Mr. McCarthy received approval to contract with Jack Jenkins for $7,867 to replace water lines for the buildings in the courthouse area. He said the new pipes being laid for the town would increase the water pressure requiring pressure valves. He added that most of the water lines are very rusted and should be replaced anyway.
The supervisors agreed to take no stand On proposals for Tier III for two sections of the Rappahannock River. Fauquier County was scheduled to consider a resolution supporting Tier III for the upper Rappahannock but opposing it for the section from Kellys Ford to Fredericksburg. Fauquier County had asked for the support of Rappa- ; hannock County for their position. The supervisors said they wanted the public hearing for both sections to go ahead so people could be heard from before they expressed a preference.
