The answer is these are all agencies that serve people in Rappahannock County and get part of their funding from the Piedmont United Way. • The Piedmont United Way is only four years old. Before that there was a Culpeper United Way. In 1989 the Piedmont United Way was organized and Fauquier County was added to its service area. In 1990 Madison, Orange and Rappahannock counties were added to the service area, making the Piedmont United Way correspond with Planning Districts and the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board area.
