NSDARTo Meet

The Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, NSDAR, will meet at Graves Mountain Lodge in Syria at 12 noon for the National Defense Luncheon on Nov. 9. Dr. Edgar F. Paryear, Jr. will speak on “The U.S. Military at the end of the Cold War.”

4-H Achievement Night

Rappahannock 4-H Clubs will hold their 4-H Achievement Night at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12 at Rappahannock County Elementary School. A covered-dish dinner for 4-H’ers and their families will begin at 6:30 followed by an awards ceremony for the 192-93 4-H year that just ended. The 4-H delegates to Japan will also present a slide program on the ’93 4-H LABO Exchange Program.

All 4-H members, families, friends and community citizens interested in 4-H are invited to attend.

Chilli Dinner

An all-you-can-eat chilli dinner will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Chester Gap fire hall. For more information call 635-5601 or 636-7936.

Children's Book Week

Come and participate in The Rappahannock County Library’s month long celebration of Children’s Book Week. Adults and children are invited to come to the library and add their handprints to the bulletin board to show that they will join children everywhere in “Reaching for the world” through books. The library’s preschool story hour will continue at 10:30 a.m. every Tuesday through November. The next program will be presented by Sara Lawrey. Crafters Sought

Crafters are sought for Christkindle Mart Dec. 4 and 5 for Washington’s Colonial Christmas Celebration. Handmade items, Christmas ornaments, quality gifts and food booths are needed. Call 675-1113 and reserve a space.

Support Group Social

The Blue Ridge Head Injury Support Group will meet and have a social from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13 in the parish hall of Trinity Episcopal Church. For directions, information, transportation or support please call Pat Salmon, 675-3137 after 6:30 p.m.

Fall Bazaar

The Amissville United Methodist Women are having their annual fall bazaar from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Church. There will be crafts, fresh pecans, homemade apple butter, white elephants and baked goods. Lunch will be available.

E.H. Achievement Night

Extension Homemakers night will be held at 7 p.m. on Nov. 8 at Trinity Episcopal Church. The program will be presented by 4-H’ers who participated in the 1993 LABO exchange trip to Japan. Reminders: turn in monications for Homemaker of the Year by Nov. 1; Perfect Attendance, Reading Certificates and Club Reports to Maybelle Gilkey, County Presidents. Also, bring items for silent auction.
